This Western Kentucky deer hunting farm is a former cattle operation with many water sources, including the river. The terrain is hilly with timbered areas-to rolling fields-to flat river bottom ground. Numerous roads wind though this property giving good access to the entire property by truck. Three hundred and sixty-eight acres are enrolled in the CRP.
Made For Deer Hunting In Kentucky
The wildlife option was chosen as the cover of choice and many miles of bicolor lespedeza strips, Autumn olive, and white pine were added to develop the edge and travel corridors that wildlife need and has to have to survive. The fields were planted to timothy, orchard grass, lespedeza and white clover. Supplemental feeding takes place from September through November and January until March. The management has interest in quail and turkey hunting. The end result is a picturesque setting with abundant wildlife of all species.
Whitetail Deer
No stand hunting for deer has been allowed on this farm since 1980 when the property came into its present ownership. An early morning truck drive of an hour or two usually results in 50 or more whitetail deer sightings. The last few years the management has been planting green fields of wheat and clover. No permanent stands are available. Portable ground blinds are available or bring your own climbing stand.
